Volcanic Strike

The volcano theme crops up on a regular basis, and we have seen similar things before for sure. Still, Volcanic Strike from Boomerang Studios comes with somewhat charming animals and visuals, and a highlight in that regard is when the volcano in the backdrop comes alive. This happens in the sticky stacked wild respins feature, which triggers on a regular basis. In fact, you can expect it every 25 spins on average.
This is good, since there is no bonus round to speak of in Volcanic Strike, but you get Amber prizes that are collected by any wild present. The prizes can also be 2 progressive jackpots, and these start at 100x and 1,000x, respectively. You can win up to6,100x your stake, which is most likely to happen from a larger jackpot, and overall this is a decent shelf-filler that will hardly be Boomerang’s big break in our humble opinion.
The premium symbols, consisting of oranges, a carnivorous plant, a parrot, and the top-tier monkey, pays between 3 and 10 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. Thevolcano Wildpays the same as the top-tier monkey, but it also pays 0.5x for only 2 wilds on a payline. The Wild also steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and it plays a central part in the game’s main feature.
Each Wild that lands always covers the entire reel, and itbecomes stickyas the remaining reelsrespin. This repeats if you land another volcano Wild on the respin, and the sticky full-reel wilds only disappear when you land a non-wild respin. It’s thus possible to fill the entire grid with nothing but wilds, which pays 100x your stake.
What’s more, the volcano Wild serves double duty as aCollector symbolas well, and you need at least one wild in view to collect theAmber prizes. The Amber prizes rangebetween 1x and 20x your stake, while theMajor and Grand prizesare progressive. They start at100xand1,000x your stake, respectively, and are reset to that value after they’ve dropped.
You get to see the full-reel Wild Respins feature a few times in the base game, and most notably closer to the end of the 3:41-minute highlights video. That’s where we finally landed a second full-reel volcano wild, and you can see for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.
It’s not too often you see a game like this, where there is no real bonus round, but Volcanic Strike comes with charming and colorful visuals. The volcano in the backdrop comes alive during the Wild Respins feature, and we almost expected it to throw some extra wilds onto the grid. This doesn’t really happen though, but the respins can provide more full reel wilds until the whole screen is covered.
This still awards only 100x your stake though, which isn’t all that impressive. You need Amber prizes to land larger payouts, at least that’s the most likely route, but only the progressive jackpot prizes can truly make a dent. You can expect the Respins feature every 25 spins on average, and the Collect feature every 11 spins on average. The6,100x potentialseems far-fetched to be honest, but perhaps if the Grand jackpot grows large enough.
