Lady Merlin MultiMax

Lady Merlin makes a comeback in this Boomerang Studios release, and her magic powers are more vivid than ever. Lady Merlin MultiMax is a follow-up to Lady Merlin Lightning Chase, in case you wondered, and the top-tier Lightning Coil cash prize has increased to 500x your stake. You get Cascading Wins all the way, and 5 different Strike Zone modifiers will help you out on a regular basis.
The sorceress herself sits above the reels, and you will get plenty of entertaining animations as she performs her different magic tricks. The MultiMax multiplier increases per wild symbol in view, and you can switch on the Wild+ Ante Bet feature to get even more wilds. The multiplier only keeps building in the bonus round, and you can win up to a solid20,000x your stake.
The premium symbols pay between 1.25 to 2 x your stake, and theLady Merlin Wildcan appear on any reel to substitute for pay symbols and thus help complete or improve wins. Winning symbols are removed via theCascading Wins mechanic, and this makes room for new and/or existing symbols to drop down. This process repeats as long as you keep winning, giving you indefinite extra spins per round.
TheMultiMax Multiplierincreases by +1 per Wild symbol that appears, and the current multiplier will boost all wins. The multiplier resets between base game spins, however, but it never resets in the bonus round. You can activate theWild+ Ante Betif you wish, and this increases your price per spin by50 %. This gives you extra wilds added to the reel strips, and it increases your RTP from 95.34 % to 95.68 %.
You can landLightning Coil cash symbols, and they come withprizes between 1x and 500x your stake. You need the Collect symbol in view to collect the current prizes, however, and it can only land on reels 2, 3, and 4.
There is aStrike Zoneabove reel 1, and special symbols can appear there at any given time in the base game. These special symbols trigger one of the followingmodifiers:
You need3 scatterson reels 1, 3, and 5 to trigger theBonus Round, and this gives you5 free spins. All 5 of the free spins are so-called Win Spins, and this means that you get extra spins until you win per free spin. The MultiMax multiplier is carried over from the base game, and it never resets during the bonus round. The bonus round is finished when you run out of spins, or when you hit the 20,000x win cap.
You get to see the Strike Zone feature in action several times in the base game part of our highlights video, and the bonus round triggers at 0:50 into the 7:31-minute video. We managed to retrigger the feature almost immediately, so it goes on for quite a while. You can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
We’ve dealt with Lady Merlin before, in Boomerang’s Lady Merlin Lightning Chase, and Lady Merlin MultiMax is a solid follow-up in most regards. The top-tier RTP is still a bit below average though, but this is not really a dealbreaker in our view. You get plenty of base game action via the Strike Zone, and it’s fun to see Lady Merlin perform her magic tricks as each feature triggers. Visually, we like this follow-up better than the original.
We also like that the Lightning Coil cash prizes are topping out at 500x your stake in this game, as opposed to 100x in the predecessor. The MultiMax multiplier only keeps building in the bonus round, and this is how you’re most likely to close in on the20,000x potential. It’s a bit lower than in the first game, but still more than enough to keep the tension up. Players looking for a magical and feature rich affair can hardly go wrong with Lady Merlin MultiMax, and we had a pretty good time testing it at least.
