Apparently, both ReelPlay and Yggdrasil have been involved with this Boomerang Studios production, but it’s not really enough to make Fruit Gemz Splitz a memorable experience. The low production value shines through from the get-go, and the fruity presentation comes across as uninspired. The pace is kind of sluggish as well, and the features are hardly original nor attractive enough to save the day.
You can collectcoin prizes up to 888x in the base game, which we have seen before in the Lightning Chase series, and Splitz symbols can provideup to 19,733 ways to win. The main attraction is the Hold & Respin feature, which comes with prizes up to 888x as well. It doesn’t help that 888x is also the game’s max win, and this is a medium volatile mediocre effort to say the least.
The premium fruit symbols pay between 1 and 2 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and winning symbols are removed via theCascading feature. The empty positions are filled with new and/or existing symbols that drop down to fill the gaps, or slide in from the right on the top horizontal reel. Either way, the cascading mechanic continues as long as you keep winning. Thegame logo Wildsteps in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and it can appear on reels 2 to 5.
TheSplitz symbolcan appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only, and not on the horizontal top reel at all. When splitz symbols land, they turn into 2, 3 or 4 instances of the same symbol, and this includes all symbols except the collect symbol. This can increase your number of win ways up to 19,733, at best.
In addition to the above, you can also landCoin and Collect symbols, and the coins come withcash prizes of 1 to 888 x your stake. The Collect symbol can appear on reel 1 only, and you need at least one in view to collect all coin prizes in view. If you land more than one collect symbol, this effectively multiplies the total coin prize value accordingly.
Finally, you get theHold & Respin Bonus Roundwhenat least 6 coinsland in the same cascading sequence, or on the same spin. You get3 respins, and the tally resets as long as you land at least one coin or collect symbol. Coins are sticky on the otherwise cleared grid, and only collect symbols, coins or blanks appear.

Fruit Gemz Splitz didn’t look all that convincing even at first glance, and it was basically downhill from there. We have seen better from Boomerang Studios for sure, and Rise of The Valkyrie Splitz comes to mind. The visual presentation is boring, and the dreamy, monotonic soundtrack made it hard to stay awake long enough to trigger the Hold & Respin round.
This is probably the best use case for this game, actually. Fruit Gemz Splitz is the perfect slot to end your late night session with, as it will calm you down and make you drowsy and ready for a good night’s sleep. In theory, it comes with a decent line-up of features, but it just does very little to keep you engaged in practice. The 888x potential isn’t very impressive either, so we hardly see a huge success story coming this game’s way.

Rise of the Valkyrie Splitz- is a somewhat similar installment in the Lightning Chase range from Boomerang, at least featurewise. The visuals are far more engaging though, and you get splitz storm cycles with a climactic 10th spin in the base game. The Hold & Respin round comes with up to 888x prizes, but the overall max win is a far more solid 5,000x your stake.
Wild Esqueleto Lightning Chase- is a Day of the Dead installment in the Boomerang range, and you get boom+ and wild+ ante bet features. You can collect the 888x coin in the base game, as well as in the Hold & Respin round, and the boom+ ante bet gives you extra wild features and 3 bonus round options. Crystal Wolf Lightning Chase- is a fantasy animal installment in Boomerang Studios’ series, and it comes with a 6×3 grid with 729 ways to win.
