The G O A T

For those unaware, G.O.A.T is an acronym for ‘Greatest of All Time’, but Blueprint has built this release around an actual mountain goat character dressed up in designer clothes with a big golden bell around his neck. The G.O.A.T seems to be in charge of some kind of Alpine ski resort center, or perhaps he is the mascot. Either way, this is a visually pleasing installment, and it comes with an unusual theme that makes it stick out from previous Blueprint efforts.
The top sliding reel gives off a Megaways engine vibe, but the reels are not really dynamic. The top reel provides multipliers up to x50, and these attach themselves to whatever symbol The G.O.A.T symbol turns into (wild reel, win multiplier or diamond points for the bonus meter). Fill the meter halfway to gamble for the bonus round, or fill it all the way to choose 1 of the 2 possible features.
You can turn on/off theG.O.A.T Betbetween base game spins, and switching it on increases your chances of triggering the bonus round. It also gives you more G.O.A.T symbols. This costs25 % more per spin, but it’s definitely something to consider. The premium symbols pay between 1 and 10 x your stake for 6-oak wins, and you also have a regularWild symbolthat steps in for pay symbols to help complete winning combos.
The G.O.A.T Symbol can land on reels 2 to 5 only, and it reveals either an X Wild, X Win or Diamond symbol. The top sliding reel awards different multipliers up to x50, and the multiplier directly above is added to whatever symbol the G.O.A.T turns into. TheX Wildexpands to become a full multiplier wild reel, while theX Win multiplierwill boost any win. The value attached to theDiamond symbolis added to theBonus Meteron the left-hand side.
Filling the Bonus Meter requires100 pointsfrom the Diamond symbol, and this triggers the Bonus Round choice menu. You can choose between2 unique bonus rounds, but you can alsogamble to win the feature with only 50 points collected(you can get that amount from a single spin). Winning the gamble wheel awards the bonus round choice, while losing means you lose all your collected points and start from scratch again.
The X Wins Bonus Roundawards10 free spins, and the X Wins symbols not only multiply current wins, but the value is also accrued in theglobal win multiplierseen on the right-hand side. The Golden X Win symbolawards+1 extra spin, and filling the Diamond Bonus Meter retriggers the feature.
The X Wild Bonus Roundalso awards10 free spins, and theX Wild symbols will expandand have a multiplier assigned as usual. The special Gold X Wild does the same, but remains locked in place for the duration of the bonus round. The Gold X Wildalso awards+1 extra spin, and you can retrigger the feature by filling the Diamond Bonus Meter.
Non-UK players, and anyone eligible, maybuy the 2 bonus roundsdirectly from the in-game menu. This costs81x your stakewith an empty Diamond Meter, but the price decreases proportionally to how full the meter is.
You get a small taste of the base game features, before we gamble our way into the bonus round choice menu. We went with the X Wins feature first, and then we gamble once again to choose the X Wilds feature right after. You can see it all for yourself by hitting the play button below, and the first feature starts at 1:20 into the 5:30-minute video.
First of all, kudos to Blueprint for trying something entirely new, and while The G.O.A.T may not live up to its acronym; ‘Greatest of all time’, it’s still a pretty solid effort that may or may not mark a new direction for this developer. We thought this was a BTG release at first glance, because of the visuals and reel setup, and we have to say that the pimped up mountain goat with luxury items on the reels works remarkably well once you get into it.
The G.O.A.T symbol is enough to keep the base game alive and kicking, although the pace can be a bit awkward at times. Multipliers up to x50 can do damage to the tune of50,000x(capped at £250,000), and even more so in the bonus rounds, of course. We preferred the X Win feature with the ever-increasing global win multiplier, but both options are good. Winning the gamble didn’t seem all that hard either, but the94.48 % RTPis way down in deal-breaker territory.
