Celestial Sisters Megaways

At first glance we were sure this was some kind of Moon Princess copycat taken to the big Megaways format by Blueprint, but that’s hardly the case. The anime-inspired visuals are admittedly similar, but the gameplay does not compare. You get cute barbie-like anime characters as the top-tier symbols, and the setting is a dreamy fantasy world that will probably appeal to certain players. It’s not really our favorite theme to be honest, but there is certainly a large niche for this kind of thing.
The gameplay seems somewhat inspired by Blueprint’s own Bison Rising Megaways, but Celestial Sisters Megaways is certainly no reskin job. The base game comes with the cascading mechanic, as well as mystery symbols, both of which are fairly common features in the dynamic grid genre. You get 4 options of starting win multipliers and number of FS when the bonus round triggers, and the Build A Bonus buy feature (not UK) is the most original thing about this release, really. Still, a decent enough game that certain players will probably appreciate.
The 4 character premium symbols pay between 2 and 50 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and you can landWild symbolson the top tracker reel only. Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins, and all winning symbols are removed via theCascading mechanic. This process repeats for as long as your winning streak lasts.
TheMystery Symbolscan appear anywhere, and all instances of this symbol will turn into a randomly chosen matching pay symbol. The mystery symbols cannot turn into wilds nor scatter symbols, however, but they appear in all stages of the game.
TheBonus Roundtriggers from4+ scatter symbolsin the same cascading sequence, or on the very same spin, and this takes you to a bonus round selection screen. Any additional triggering scatter above the minimum of 4 gives you extra free spins depending on which option you go with. The options are as follows:
The bonus roundwin multiplierincreases by+1 per cascading win, and you win+5 or +10 extra free spinswhen you land3 or 4 scatter symbolsin view, respectively.
ThePot Systemis a jackpot game that triggers when you land 6 overlay symbols. You will then move up a ladder to hopefully reach the Super feature section, and this can land you one of the 3 jackpots.
TheBuild A Bonus Menuis available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. You can choose between 10 and 20 free spins, a starting multiplier between x1 and x10, as well as a minimum Megaways number between 324 and 117,649. The price of the bonus buy feature varies with your choices, and it will be between 52 and 7,378 x your stake.
You get a brief and uneventful taste of the base game, before we build our bonus round at 0:25 into the 5-minute highlights video. We went with 20 free spins, an x10 starting win multiplier, and 5,000 minimum Megaways. You can see for yourself how much we paid for it, and how we fared, by hitting the play button below.
Fans of Moon Princess will probably enjoy the anime visuals Blueprint has conjured up in Celestial Sisters Megaways, but it’s probably not everyone’s cup of tea. Moon Princess is wildly popular though, so it’s hard to tell, really. Anyway, Celestial Sisters Megaways follows the standard Megaways blueprint in most regards, as you get mystery symbols and cascading wins in all stages. The bonus round gives you 4 options of free spins and starting win multipliers, all of which has been seen many times before.
The twist is that landing additional scatters award extra spins depending on your choice, but this is hardly anything new either. What makes this game stick out is the Build A Bonus feature, but this option is unfortunately not available in all jurisdictions. It’s a neat feature nonetheless, but it definitely needs to be handled with care. It can be tempting to max it out, if you have the bankroll for it, but it’s probably a good idea to test the waters in the lower end first. The25,000x potentialis solid, but the top-tier 93.5 % RTP is well below average.
