Curse Of The Mummies

After 2 previous efforts featuring somewhat original theme ideas, Blue Guru Games returns to more familiar territory in this third installment. Curse of the Mummies is a well-made ancient Egypt release though, with engaging visuals and a somewhat spooky atmosphere. The number of paylines has risen to 243 in this release, and the12,532x potentialis also significantly upgraded compared to the previous installments.
This means that you can land solid payouts also in the base game, at least in theory, and with help from the Rise From The Crypt wild or scatter transformation feature. What you really want however, is the bonus round, where a solid multiplier can be built from the triggering scatters (and especially from super scatters). The change of scenery is also appreciated, and this one is well worth checking out for Egypt fans.
The 4 premium mummy symbols pay between 3.2 and 8 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and thedecorated golden scarab Wildsteps in for regular pay symbols to help complete wins. The wild does not hold any value of its own, but it can land on all 5 reels to help you out.
TheRise from the Crypt featurecan trigger at random times, and thistransforms a randomly chosen pay symbol into wilds or scatters. This may help you land a win via the extra wilds, or it may help you trigger the Rise From the Crypt Bonus Round.
Bonus Round triggers when you land ascatter symbol on all 5 reelsat the same time, and this awards15 free spins. Regular triggering scatters add+1, +2, +3, +4 or +5to theglobal win multiplier, while super scatters contribute with +10. The win multiplier is active throughout the bonus round, and you can retrigger the feature with5 scatters. This awards+5 extra spins, and each scatter adds+1 to +5 to the multiplier.
Finally, non-UK players, and anyone living in an eligible jurisdiction, may take advantage of theBonus Buy feature. Simply hit the ‘Buy Bonus’ button on the left, and you get to choose between4 different optionsas follows:
Nothing overly exciting happened for us in the base game, so you can safely skip to around 1:22 where we purchase the top-tier bonus round. We got an x34 starting multiplier from the 5 triggering scatters, and we even managed to retrigger the feature which upped the multiplier to x51.
The ancient Egypt theme may be a conventional choice, but Blue Guru Games has poured some originality into it by the change of scenery you get in the bonus round. The whole grid literally “rises from the crypt”, and you end up in the desert with pyramids and buildings in the background. The base game is mostly a grind though, but decent payouts can come from the 243 win ways and the wild transformations.
It’s always exciting to see what kind of multiplier you get when the bonus round triggers, but you can also expect plenty of dead free spins once a solid multiplier has been achieved. Retriggering the feature is the only way to increase the multiplier, and overall Curse of the Mummies isn’t super original in any way. It’s still a decent installments though, but ancient Egypt is a tough genre to compete in.
Pros
Cons
Octopus Armada- comes with an elaborate and intriguing backstory, and this Blue Guru Games installment gives you cloning wilds in all stages of the game. Wilds are collected in the bonus round, eliminating symbols chronologically from low to high, and you can win up to 3,079x your stake.

In addition, you get a judgement streak respins bonus game, as well as the underworld bonus round, and the max win is 10,000x your stake.
Temple Tumble 2- is a cinematographic and action-packed release from Relax Gaming, and it’s all about clearing blocker tiles to trigger the bonus round.
