Clash Of The Seraphim

The epic battle between good and evil is hardly something new in the entertainment business, and Clash of the Seraphim comes with biblical overtones as the grid is literally placed between heaven and hell. A representative from both domains is hanging out on either side, and this provides the backdrop for the action that plays out on the 7×7 cluster pays grid.
Apparently, 7 Seraphims are battling Lucifer’s fallen angels for control of creation, but the backstory doesn’t really make much of an impact on the actual gameplay. You get 2 morphing and moving drop areas that provide wild transformations, and multipliers come from multiple wilds in an area. The drop area has no size restrictions in the bonus round, and you can winup to 3,938x your stake.
You need5 to 40+ matching symbolsin a cluster anywhere on the grid to win, and the symbols pay between 0.5 and 1x for 5 in a cluster. At the top-level, you win30 to 1,000x your stakefor 40+ matching symbols in a cluster. Wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and winning symbols are removed via theCascading mechanic. This makes room for new winning chances dropping from above, and the process repeats as long as you keep winning.
There are3 Drop Areasin this game, the dark, light and scatter area. The light and dark area moves around per spin, and the respective sizes these areas cover varybetween 2×2 and 3×7. If a wild symbol lands inside the dark or light area, all symbols inside the respective area turn wild. If more than one wild lands in the same area, you get a multiplier that corresponds to the number of wilds.
TheEye of Seraphim scatter symbolcan appear on the middle reel only, and the Bonus Round triggers if the scatter drops down to theEternal Gate scatterarea at the bottom position. You can choose between8 Dark Free Spins (high volatility), or you can go for15 Light Free Spins (less volatile). The corresponding drop area is active in the feature, and there is no limit to the size during the bonus round. Scatters do not appear, so there is no way to retrigger.
TheBonus Buy optionis available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. The price is75x your stake, and you get the same95.51 %RTP. This gives you a spin where the scatter is guaranteed to drop down to the triggering scatter area.
We had a decent time testing Clash of the Seraphim, and at least the cascading mechanic comes with a somewhat satisfying pace. We have whipped together a brief and edited highlights video for your viewing pleasure as usual, and you can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
The grid is placed between a demon from hell and an angel from heaven. However, the battle between good and evil seems a bit too static, and it doesn’t really spill over into the gameplay. It’s more of a Mexican standoff perhaps, but the visuals are still decent. The moving and morphing drop areas both look and act the same after all, and it would’ve suited the theme better if, at the very least, one area frame was made of flames.
Decent payouts are certainly possible also in the base game, but the overall max win of3,938xwill hardly impress experienced punters. Even more so, since this win was achieved only once in 10 billion simulated spins. Things get a bit more tense when the size restrictions are removed from the drop area in the bonus round, and getting plenty of wilds is kind of fun when it happens. The concept and main features are not too shabby, but the execution could’ve been better.
