Rasputin Megaways

A simple Google image search for “Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin” should be enough to tell you that this was no ordinary comrade. His eyes really do have a “flamy glow”, as Boney M and his all-female choir sings in the famous disco song this Big Time Gaming release is more than inspired by. You don’t get any vocals in the base game, but they are added for dramatic effect when the bonus rounds trigger.
With Saint Basil’s Cathedral from the Red Square in Moscow in the background, and disco lights moving around, Rasputin lands as a wild on a regular basis to add up to 48 extra and grid-expanding symbols to the already dynamic Megaways grid. You get a variant of this in both bonus rounds, while one also comes with a progressive multiplier system. The up to 10 (or 12) positions grid is larger than usual, and you can winup to 68,180x your stake.
The premium symbols pay between 1 and 50 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and theRasputin disco ball wildsteps in for pay symbols to help complete wins. It comes with a random number up to 48 in the base game (and 60 in the bonus round), and this is the number of symbols it will add to the reels. The win calculation occurs after the symbols have been added.
You need3+ scattersin view to trigger theBonus Round, and you canchoose between 2 optionseach time the feature triggers:
TheWin Exchange systemallows you to exchangeany win of 100x, or more, for the bonus round. To be clear, you need to pay 100x, so you get to keep any additional winnings above that. If you winbetween 25x and 99x, you cangambleall or part of it to win the bonus round. Your chances increase the more you’re willing to put on the line.
The Win Exchange system may not be available in all jurisdictions, and the same goes for theBonus Buy option. This feature is not available in the UK for sure, but if you are eligible you can purchase the bonus round for100x the stake. This gives you the option between the 2 free spins features.
You get a decent taste of the base game, before we purchase the Big & Strong bonus round at 0:51 into the 6-minute highlights video. It didn’t last for all that long, but we purchase the Ecstasy & Fire feature right after, at 2:09 to be precise. You can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
Big Time Gaming has, probably wisely, avoided the darker and deeper approach to the phenomenon that was Rasputin the man, and instead focused on the Boney M smash hit disco song about the legendary Russian mystic. Rasputin Megaways comes across as a highly enjoyable, innovative, and entertaining release, and this is BTG at their very best in our view.
The soundtrack is as catchy as ever (if you like Euro-style disco fox music, that is), and the symbol adding wild feature makes the grid even more dynamic. Granted, you can “only” win up to 3,200x in the base game, but both bonus rounds are capable of massive payouts up to 68,180x your stake. The core feature has no trouble carrying this game, but a lot hangs on whether or not you like the music.
Pros
Cons
Magic Monk Rasputin – is a darker and more mysterious approach to the Rasputin theme, and this 2015 Edict release comes with payouts up to 2,500x your stake. The big innovation is the tower-building symbols, and larger towers means bigger prizes.
Castle of Terror – is a somewhat understated vampire release from Big Time Gaming, which only adds to the tension. Character symbols are transformed by holy water at random times, turning them wild while also increasing the win multiplier. You get this on every bonus round spin, which can lead to payouts up to 61,720x your stake.
Holy Diver – is another Big Time Gaming installment inspired by a famous song, and it comes with an innovative Reel Adventure system. This makes it akin to a video game, and you’ll follow a heroic knight exploring 3 unique worlds. There is a bonus round as well, for payouts up to 23,306x your stake.
